Year 4
Year 4 is an exciting year group to be in, with lots of new things for the children to experience.
Throughout the year the children learn about a variety of exciting and engaging topics such as the Romans, the Mayans, the history of Bradford and South America. To bring these topics to life and provide a context for the children, we visit Saltaire, the Industrial museum in Bradford and also have exciting talks from visitors.
The children love learning the keyboard weekly with a visit from a specialist teacher and by the end of the year they are able to confidently perform, demonstrating their amazing skills!
Towards the end of the year, the children take part in a multiplication task to check their understanding and ability to recall multiplication and division facts.
One of the highlighted of being a pupil in year 4 includes the weekly swimming lessons at Sedbergh Leisure Centre. Every lesson is taught by a dedicated team of swimming instructors who ensure that every child has the opportunity to be able to tread water and swim at least 25 metres by the end of the year.
