As the final year of our children’s journey through primary school, Year 6 is an incredibly exciting and rewarding year. Although it can be extremely challenging and very focussed, our main aim in Year 6 is to celebrate the children’s achievements, perseverance and their successes throughout their time in school. It is during this year, when we equip the children with the skills and knowledge to enable them to take a step into the next stage of their life.
Throughout the year the children have the opportunity to visit the National Coal Mining Museum, sit their first externally marked assessment, visit a local chemical plant, take an active part in the leavers service at Bradford Cathedral, spend two nights away on a residential trip and produce and perform an end of year production.
As a culmination of all of their hard work throughout the year, Year 6 complete their primary school journey with a graduation and prize giving ceremony.
