Meet the Governors

Governance Arrangements

The Governing Body of the school was reconstituted on 1st December 2014 and consists of the following members: The Headteacher, one Local Authority Governor, one elected Staff Governor, three elected Parent Governors, three Co-opted Governors and one Associate Governor.

Foundation Governors are appointed by the Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales and these Governors have a particular role in overseeing the Christian ethos of the school.

The core strategic functions of the Governing Body are:

  • To provide clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school;
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff;
  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.

The Governing Body works together as a team and shares responsibilities and tasks to ensure that statutory responsibilities are met and to provide full challenge and support for the Headteacher and the school. The Full Governing Body meets twice a term and in addition, the sub-committees considering different aspects of school life in greater detail, meet at least termly.
